The Las Vegas Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) which includes Clark County,
Nye County, and Mojave County had a population increase of 83% from the 1990
Census to the 2000 Census).
Three of our cities (City of Las Vegas, City of Henderson, and the City of North Las Vegas) are in the Top Ten Fastest Growing Incorporated Places of a Population of 100,000 or more per the 2000 Census.
According to the 1990 Census, the Hispanic population was approximately 11.2% of the total Clark County population. The Hispanic population increased from 82,904 as reported in the 1990 Census, to 302,143 according to the 2000 Census. According to Census 2000, the Hispanic population was 22% of the overall Clark County population. The Nevada State Demographer has projected that Hispanics will make up approximately 23.5% of the total Clark County population in 2003, and will probably increase to almost 25% in 2004.
